The Problem: Handle Fatigue & Material Failure

The OEM Mitsubishi Delica L400 sliding door handle was designed to last many years — and for most owners, it did. However, once it fails, finding a genuine OEM replacement has become increasingly difficult, and many aftermarket alternatives use low-cost, non-reinforced plastics that commonly fail after a short period of use.

Why This Happens

The Delica’s sliding door is heavy, and the handle design requires significant leverage to operate it. This concentrates stress on a relatively small lever section. Over time, repeated loading causes plastic fatigue, cracking, or complete fracture — especially in parts made from unreinforced materials.

Many inexpensive replacements are molded from basic plastics without fiber reinforcement, offering poor resistance to repeated mechanical stress.

Our Solution: Reinforced Design + PA6-CF

This replacement handle was reverse-engineered from an original OEM component and redesigned to address known weaknesses:

• Lever thickness increased from 8 mm to 10 mm to reduce stress concentration
  
• Injection-molding voids removed and filled to improve structural continuity
  
• Manufactured from PA6-CF (carbon fiber reinforced nylon) for high strength, stiffness, and fatigue resistance
  

PA6-CF is commonly used in demanding mechanical applications where repeated loading and durability are critical.

Surface Protection & Finish

Each handle is coated with an epoxy primer, specifically chosen for nylon materials. This ensures:

• Strong paint adhesion to PA6-CF
  
• Compatibility with standard automotive topcoats
  
• Added protection against UV exposure and moisture absorption
